At the Snake Temple
Legend has it that a monk gave shelter to snakes from the jungle, who ended up never leaving the temple. They’re poisonous, but are apparently paralyzed by the constant incense burning; “holy and harmless,” people call them. The snakes can be found coiled around tree branches around the temple, but in the back are two gigantic snakes kept in a glass box. Tourists are invited to get their picture taken with one around their neck for 30RM… I wouldn’t have dared, though I did poke the large python.
